Family & Couple's Therapy

I view families as dynamic ecosystems, and my primary focus is on addressing relational patterns that are no longer helpful to that ecosystem. We’ll carefully evaluate, plan, and take steps to heal these patterns, aiming to move forward despite differences. In family and couples work, the issue does not lie within an individual, but rather lies within the reciprocal patterns of behavior between individuals.

Coaching: Strategic Life Planning

I merge psychological and managerial theories to help individuals craft a strategic life plan, guiding youth through transitions from high school to higher education or vocational training, and aiding adults in aligning with goals, balancing needs, and navigating career or relationship shifts.

Similar to businesses’ strategic plans, this personalized process outlines life goals, benchmarks, tactics, and projected outcomes within a 2-5 year timeframe. Unlike vague “5-year plans” or vision boards, this approach provides specific, actionable steps for success. Let’s get specific and put thoughts into actionable steps!

I’ll work with you to create an individualized strategic plan with life domain goals, needs-based benchmarks, tactics for success, and projected outcomes/timeframes. We’ll start by envisioning your life in 2-5 years, followed by a comprehensive assessment (SWOT analysis) of strengths, vulnerabilities, opportunities, and threats. This info guides the process, leveraging strengths, addressing vulnerabilities, seizing opportunities, and managing threats. Schedule a 15-minute consultation to discuss this process in more detail.

Notes on Youth Plans — Guiding individuals transitioning from high school into higher education, independent living, or vocational skills training. Particularly helpful to those who have benefitted from prior support with their social-emotional development and/or executive functioning skills. Will help explore and guide youth and families through transition planning, making sense of the 688-referral process of school districts for adult services, guiding youth in educational decision making as it relates to Age of Majority, understanding and applying for services through state agencies (e.g., DMH, DDS, MRC), understanding and applying for SSI benefits, and working with college counseling centers to best integrate social-emotional supports within higher educational settings.

Notes on Adult Plans — Similarly, guiding individuals in realigning themselves to achieve life goals by providing balance in the way they currently meeting (or don’t meet) needs, making any major life-shifts (careers, relationships, etc.), and integrating major life occurrences into self-identity.
